Gouri G. Sashital is a partner with the firm. Ms. Sashital concentrates her practice in the area of employment law, including advising and defending private and public employers with respect to claimed civil rights violations, wrongful discharge, unlawful retaliation, discrimination, and Family Medical Leave Act violations. Ms. Sashital also has extensive experience advising and defending school districts with respect to student discipline and special education matters, including with regard to investigations and complaints by the Michigan Department of Education and the federal Departments of Education and Justice. In addition to her law practice, Ms. Sashital is a member of various professional organizations, and currently serves as the Labor and Employment Section Chair for the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. In 2009 and again in 2012, Ms. Sashital was named a “Rising Star” by the Michigan Super Lawyers.
