On December 8, 2016, Governor Snyder signed Senate Bill 0597, the Qualified Dispositions in Trust Act, into law, which became Public Act 0330 of 2016. This Act validates the formation of asset protection trusts in Michigan and makes qualified contributions to the trust immune from certain claims of creditors, including certain claims to avoid fraudulent transfers.
In Memoriam, Dennis B. DuBay
We are sad to inform our clients and friends that our colleague, Dennis DuBay, passed away on April 29, 2022.
Dennis started his law career in 1971 at Keller Thoma and became one of the State of Michigan’s leading labor law attorneys. He was considered the “go to” attorney representing cities in 312 arbitration hearings.
Dennis mentored an entire generation of young lawyers in the practice of labor law. The partners, associates and staff at Keller Thoma are grateful for the wisdom and friendship that he generated over 45 years and he will truly be missed.
